In this paper, we systematically introduce the brain structures and stage of “pain memory” and the mechanisms of acupuncture intervention on synaptic plasticity of chronic pain are also reviewed.

Key words: Acupuncture, Chronic pain, Acupuncture, Plasticity , Memory, Review
