Methods:40 Wistar rats were randomly divided into the normal control group, the model group, the "Feishu" acupoint group and the non-channel-non-acupoint group, 10 rats in each group. Ovalbumin (OVA) to establish the rat model of asthma induced by sensitized, Hematoxylin eosin (He) staining was used to observe the pathological changes of lung tissue in rats, Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the levels of interleukin -1 beta (IL-1 beta) and interleukin -6 (IL-6) in the lung tissue of rats. Results:Acupuncture "Feishu" point can alleviate the inflammatory pathological changes of bronchial asthma model, reduce airway thickening and inflammatory cell aggregation, and have obvious difference compared with non-channel-non-acupoint acupoints. The resultsof ELISA showed that acupuncture "Feishu" point could lower the elevated IL-1 and beta levels in bronchial asthma, the difference was statistically significant (P =0.009), and it was different from that of the nonchannel-non-acupoint group. However, manual acupuncture of single point "Feishu " acupoint can not significantly reduce the elevated IL-6 content in bronchial asthma (P =0.131). Conclusion: Manual acupuncture of single acupoint can regulate IL-1 beta in bronchial asthma and play a benign regulatory role, but it does not affect the content of IL-6.

Keywords:acupuncture, “Feishu”, bronchial asthma, IL-1 beta, IL-6
